🇺🇸 Chevron Starts Production at Deepwater Ballymore Field in US Gulf
Chevron has officially launched oil and gas production at its Ballymore field, located in the deepwater US Gulf of America, the company announced on April 21, 2025.
Discovered in 2018, the Ballymore field lies approximately 160 km southeast of New Orleans and was developed via three production wells tied back to the nearby Blind Faith platform. This tieback approach significantly reduced costs and time-to-market, aligning with Chevron’s strategy for capital discipline.
With an estimated production capacity of 75,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), Ballymore strengthens Chevron's footprint in deepwater operations and contributes to stable US energy output. Chevron owns 60% of the project and serves as operator, while TotalEnergies holds the remaining 40% stake.
