🇸🇬 Singapore's MPA Receives 14 Proposals to Expand LNG Bunker Supply
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has received 14 proposals under its recent Expression of Interest (EOI) initiative, aimed at enhancing the LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) bunkering capacity at the Port of Singapore.
This strategic move reflects Singapore’s commitment to advancing clean energy alternatives in the maritime sector. The MPA highlighted that LNG demand is growing due to its lower emissions profile, positioning it as a transitional fuel for global shipping's decarbonization goals.
In response, the MPA plans to launch a new call for LNG bunker supplier license applications, further expanding infrastructure and supplier diversity to ensure a resilient and sustainable marine fuel ecosystem.
